- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) - Bachelor
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program is designed to enable students to work effectively in today's complex business environment. Designed to provide an effective balance of theory and practical experiences, the program promotes a complimentary relationship between job skills and classroom applications. It also emphasizes skill development in the areas of decision-making, business communications and quantitative analysis. This undergraduate program includes a 48-credit core curriculum, which constitutes the major course of study. General education and elective credits are also required to fulfill the 123 semester hour requirements for the BBA degree. Courses are offered sequentially.
- Master of Business Administration -- Human Resource Management Concentration - Masters
The Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Human Resource Management (MBA-HRM) is a graduate level program for those seeking professional competence in the field of human resource management. The Concentration is a series of five three-credit courses, two taken in regular classes in the MBA core curriculum and three taken on-line. In addition, an online preparation course for the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification exam is provided for those seeking professional certification in the field.
- Master of Business Administration: Leadership - Masters
The Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Leadership is a graduate level program providing advanced and specialized learning about theory and practice for individuals in leadership positions. The Concentration is a series of six three-credit courses, two taken in regular classes in the MBA core curriculum and four taken on-line.
- MBA - Concentration in Marketing - Masters
The Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Marketing is a graduate level program that is ideal for business leaders who define and implement the marketing functions of a firm. The Concentration is a series of six three-credit courses, one taken in regular classes in the MBA and five taken on-line.

- Master of Education - Masters
The Master of Education program is designed to encourage the development of the professional educator. The program concentrates on an educational framework that supports the advancement, application, and integration of relevant theory and practice within the classroom. In order to assume leadership positions, teachers must become competent in curriculum content, design, and implementation use of instructional strategies appropriate for the developmental level of students and appropriate for each curriculum area. The Master of Education program provides a strong theoretical base that examines philosophical, psychological, and research-oriented issues.

The program concentrates on the functional areas of business. These include, but are not limited to, management, accounting, finance, economics, and strategic planning. The curriculum is structured sequentially, with participants taking one course at a time. The Master of Business Administration program requires the completion of a 41 credit curriculum. All courses in the Master of Business Administration program are designed to recognize the global impact on business and industry.

History
Founded in 1859 as a school for young women, Averett University grew to a fully accredited, co-educational, four-year college in 1971, with the Graduate and Professional Studies Program beginning 20 years ago. Today, the university attracts students from 29 states and 14 foreign countries and offers degree programs at more than 15 Virginia locations.
